Members of the International Salvage Union (ISU) provided 186 services to vessels carrying 2.6 million tonnes of potentially polluting cargo and fuel during operations in 2022. It clearly shows the critical role of professional salvors in protecting the marine environment.

TSAVLIRIS GROUP celebrated their New Year's "Pita Cutting" event on 20/2/2023. The occasion included the traditional annual blessing and was attended by the TSAVLIRIS family and staff.

The successful Capital Link's 13th Annual Greek Shipping Forum took place on 9 February 2023 at the Divani Caravel Hotel with many of the maritime industry's leaders honouring the event.

The Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers Greek Branch held their traditional pita cutting event on 9 February 2023 at the Piraeus Marine Club. Mr Nicolas Tsavliris, Chairman ICS Greek Branch, gave his annual speech.

Mr Nicolas Tsavliris was unanimously elected Honourary President of the Hellenic Shipowners' Association of Tugs, Salvage, Antipollution and OSVs for his lifetime contribution, commitment & invaluable service to the salvage industry and in particular to the Association. Mr Tsavliris has served the Association for almost 40 years including 25 years as its President.

The International Women's Club of Athens organised an event entitled "GREEK SHIPPING AFTER THE WAR OF INDEPENDENCE 1821" on 26 January 2023 at the Hellenic Armed Forces Officers' Club. George Tsavliris was the key note speaker.

On 13 January 2023, the Bulk Carrier "MV ADASTRA (GT 25,554 - DWT 46,493), laden with Agribulk, experienced main engine problems and was drifting off Yemen. Tsavliris despatched the AHTS "HERCULES" from Berbera, Somalia to the assistance of the casualty.

Tsavliris Salvage recently renewed successfully the ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 with a record of zero incidents at sea and marine pollution.

The Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers Greek Branch held its 17th Annual Forum, on 7 December 2022. The title was: "Moving Forward with the World in Turmoil". Mr Nicolas A. Tsavliris, FICS, Chairman of the ICS Greek Branch and Principal of Tsavliris Salvage Group, led the panel of distinguished speakers.

On 20 November 2022, the Container Vessel "SC PHILLY" (GT 9,957 – DWT 14,000), partly laden with containers, experienced main engine problems in Gulf of Almeria, Spain.
Despite all difficulties in locating an "all weather" powerful tug, Tsavliris despatched the AHT "KOLGA" (BHP 16,316 – BP 208) on the same day.

On 13 November 2022, the VLCC "OKEANOS" (GT 81,270 – DWT 160,000), laden with 135,800 tonnes of crude oil, was disabled due to main engine problem, about 80 nautical miles off Dubai, UAE.
On 14 November, Tsavliris despatched the AHT "BRITOIL 41" (BHP 9,186 – BP 150) from Dubai.

On 9 November 2022, the Ro-Ro "ANTONIOS M" (GT 493), experienced main engine problems and was towed from Rio, Greece, to Piraeus Roads by Tsavliris' T/B "HERMES (BHP 2,725 - BP 41). On 11 November, the convoy arrived safely at destination and the operation was successfully completed.

Thousands of runners, cyclists and sailors joined forces for an epic, record breaking 7,767 km non-stop relay through 18 countries (from Scotland to Egypt) and helped deliver a message on climate action to the world’s leaders at COP27! CYMEPA President Mr George Tsavliris, CYMEPA friends and associates participated in the world's greatest climate change relay, the “Running Out of Time” race on 31 October 2022.
